Remember the Data analysis course we launched in collaboration with OurNetwork?
We’ve wrapped up week one now, and it has been extremely fun! We had to be selective in choosing applicants though, and sadly turned a lot down.
If that was you, don’t worry. Isaac Asimov said that self-education is the only kind of education there is and now we’ve released all course materials from the first week.
You can follow along at your own pace, and learn exactly the same as the students in the course!

Speaking of Wizards…. Some excellent dashboards have been shipped over the past week. Let’s check them out, starting with a hot topic - the Ethereum Name Service.
The Ethereum Name Service Shows Strong Growth
The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) was created to allow for shorter, human-friendly names in place of long, messy Ethereum addresses.
This is a cool way for users to signal their membership in the community, no doubt you’ve seen all the .eth names on Twitter, but also allows for the transfer of funds to be made directly to the name and other practical benefits.
ENS came out with some big news this week. They’re decentralizing governance by transitioning to a DAO, accepting applications for delegates, and will be airdropping $ENS governance tokens in a week’s time.
This has seen some significant interest on crypto Twitter. On Dune too, some great ENS dashboards have been trending. Let’s take a look at the best of the bunch, starting with some high level metrics from @makoto, a Dune Wizard and dev at ENS.
First off, over 405,000 names have been created in total!
Most of these - 278,000+ are .eth names, but there are also more than 121,000 subdomains too and a small slice of non .eth domains.
We were Tweeting about ENS back in 2019 - and it was getting hot back then - but things really took off in 2021 with new .eth registrations surging through the summer and fall.
Is it just a trend that people jumped on for a while? It seems not.
Like with a traditional domain, you register a .eth for a specific time period like 1, 5 or 10 years. After that you choose to renew or let it lapse.
As you would expect, the first year was slow on renewals, then they steadily rose and held firm in the thousands per month throughout 2020 and 2021.
The other important metric is released domains. This has been steady through Summer ‘21, with a significant spike in August and is set to rise nicely into Q1 of next year with 4,928 names set to be released in January.
So, how much revenue is all this generating?
@Makato created a dashboard specifically covering .eth revenue, which has reached an impressive:
9,294 ETH (registration)
2,689 ETH (renewal)
At the current price of ETH, this amounts to more than 52 million USD.
Revenue comes mostly from registrations, and has surged in recent months:
This is driven by more that 150,000 unique participants, with top holders sitting on many hundreds of domains.
Looking at volume, renewals and revenue, ENS seems to have shown real product market fit and longevity.
It’ll be interesting to follow the structural changes unfolding next week, we’ll keep you updated here and on Twitter!

GenieSwap Finds Traction
Billing itself as the first NFT market aggregator, Genie is an interesting addition to the space.
Genie lets you buy and sell multiple NFTs across all marketplaces - like Opensea, Coinbase, Rarible, and NFTX - in a single transaction through a single interface.
Total volume now sits at more than 4,270 ETH:
And a healthy 183 ETH has been generated in fees!
Over the past month cumulative fees rose sharply, unsurprisingly dominated by Opensea:
Some other interesting metrics:
Average token swap of 8
Average transaction size 4.03 ETH
The largest swap was 203 ETH
1060 total swaps from 355 unique users

Charged Particles & $IONX
Charged Particles is a minting protocol that allows users to deposit (any) ERC-20 tokens, and NFTs, into an NFT.
NFTs can be turned into baskets of assets, time-locked and generating yield through Aave integration.
Currently sitting at a price of $0.6117, the $IONX token is used for protocol governance.
@zanzapod created a neat dashboard tracking it. We can see that the holder count has grown throughout the year, now at 1,831 wallets.
If you’re interested in potential new NFT applications then you should take a look at the dashboard to learn more!
SquidDAO Breakdown
SquidDAO (not the one that got rugged on BSC) is an ETH-based OHM fork.
The team claim to be a group of “anon veteran defi yield farmers” aiming to outperform ETH on a risk-adjusted basis.
@0xvisual made a cool dashboard tracking the project. Market cap has shot up since launch:
In the dashboard you can check out all key stats on staking, supply, treasury assets, LP fees, holders and more.
A Shiny Web 3 Community
Shiny Object Social Club is an NFT community of 700+ “creators, automaters and builders”.
Membership is granted through Magpie themed NFTs and governance organized through the $SHINY token. Holders have grown steadily over the past month:
And there are now 226 $SHINY holders and 48 Mag owners. To learn about token & NFT distribution, supply, sales, holders and volume - check out this dashboard by @Ncls.

And if you have any comments or suggestions, we’re all ears…..
See you next time. In the meantime come hang out with us on Twitter and Discord.
The data must flow…….
Thank you for sharing this information! Really good! I was trying to access the first link "Check it out and become a Wizard yourself!" and it sends me to a "Page not found". Do I need other privilege's?
