GM
Welcome to Issue #16 of Dune Digest.
First, a little Dune news.
Wizard Grants
We launched a new initiative - Wizard Grants!
We have a lot of talent in our community, skilled analysts who contribute so much with their great dashboards that we see every edition.
We want to foster their talent and reward their contributions, so we’re going to be periodically choosing Resident Wizards.
Our most engaged and active creators will be selected, and will receive a $10,000 Wizard Grant for a 3 month residency!
We’ve selected the first 3 - @jh, @Chuxin & @hildobby.
Congratulations……… And - we’ll be actively recruiting more throughout the year!

February Challenge
Last week a proactive aspiring Wizard, bamarc.eth, tweeted about learning Dune through the month of February. Soon, dozens of others committed to joining!
We decided to make a space for them in Discord and support their learning efforts. If the February Challenge is a success - perhaps we’ll make it permanent……
You can read about it here:
Now on to the data…….
AssangeDAO
The latest in the trend of leveraging DAOs to fund real world projects, which we’ve covered in previous issues, is an interesting one.
First we were trying to buy the Constitution, then a Golf Course, now it’s a more political flavor with AssangeDAO.
AssangeDAO’s mission is to:
Inspire a powerful solidarity network and fight for the freedom of Julian Assange. We will raise funds to help with his legal fees and campaigns to increase public awareness on the systemic failure of our justice systems.
It’s a relatively new project that kicked off through a Telegram group in mid December. They started raising funds last week, and have been highly successful - as we can see with the help of a dashboard by @Jonasssss.
So far, 17,433.62 ETH has been raised thanks to 10,135 unique addresses contributing an median of 0.2 ETH.
That’s $56,574,179 raised in under one week!
A helpful histogram from another great dashboard by @sohwak shows that a lot of contributions were quite substantial:
3-10 ETH: 488
10-30 ETH: 201
30-100 ETH: 85
100+ ETH: 28
Several notable figures in the space publicly contributed, including Vitalik himself:
The goal was to use the funds to bid on Censored, an NFT Collection by Pak in collaboration with Assange. On Wednesday, AssangeDAO successfully acquired the desired piece, Clock, for ETH 16,593 (USD 53.1m):
Contributors were also able to claim the governance token, $JUSTICE, from Wednesday - with 1 Million tokens allocated for each 1 ETH contributed.
Some key stats:
17,416,692,508 max mint
13,812,302,657 total minted
79.305% claim ratio
Minting is still ongoing and growing steadily through the day:
AssangeDAO was seemingly inspired (in part at least), by the success of ConstitutionDAO, which it actually outraised quite significantly:
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with this project and its mission going forward, and how governance will decide its future direction.
For more data, check out @Jonasssss’s dashboard, and give Sohwak’s a browse for token data.
ENS DAO
ENS recently transitioned into a DAO following their well-publicized airdrop of $ENS tokens.
@andrewshvv created a dashboard this week tracking key DAO metrics - let’s take a quick look:
Voting power is distributed quite evenly among the top 10 delegates:
Brantley.eth remains the delegate with the most voting power, which has slightly declined since since November. Other powerful delegates are Coinbase, lead dev nick.eth, and several other notable figures.
There are 4,491 total delegates, and the approximate cost of 51% of delegated tokens is $68,059,689.
There’s an interesting visualization in the dashboard showing the cumulative power of top delegates, and another showing the change in total delegated tokens over time. Check them out!
Micropets
Micropets is a BSC-based platform that has:
“Taken your favorite memes and packaged them up into adorable pets you can trade or stake”
You can read more about the project in the whitepaper.
A dashboard made by the team has been trending over the past couple of days, showing key stats on pools, reinvestment & more.
There are some unusual aspects. There are evolved and unevolved pools, the former paying out $BNB tokens and the latter $PET. Users “evolve” their NFT pets by burning two “adults”.
We can see that there have been almost 6000 evolutions in total, with 1966 evolved pets in the pool.
We expect more to be added to this dashboard soon, if you’re interested in the latest aspiring BSC Metaverse - give it a browse and a bookmark.
Woodies
Woodies is a collection of 10,000 forest creature NFTs.
There are plans to build a community with global meetups, and expand into 3D avatars and interactive metaverse storylines.
There’s a nice dashboard out by @rssems.
Currently, there are 3,640 holders who own a median of 1 and an mean of 3. Total volume is sitting at 2223 ETH driven by a total of 4,717 sales.
Currently, the floor is at 0.350 ETH, and has been steadily rising over the past few months:
While daily volume hit ATHs one week ago today:

FriesDAO
Another latest DAO aiming to fund “real world” projects is FriesDAO, which seeks to create a community to build and govern a fast-food franchise.
Interestingly, this week they managed to entice the formed president of Dominoes to the advisory board, who commented that:
“I believe we have only scratched the surface, and I’m excited to join this cutting edge experiment with FriesDAO”
@dqniellew made a dashboard covering the project - that has raised an impressive amount:
373 contributors with a median contribution of $5100 have pushed FriesDAO almost half-way (47.29%) towards their total goal.
The project appears to be more than a meme, and funds are still pouring in:
It will be an interesting one to follow and see whether they pull it off. Check out the full dashboard for more!
