GM
Wow, this has been a big week
Yesterday, we made an exciting announcement……
We’ve raised $69,420,000 in a Series B funding round led by Coatue!
We’re going to use these funds to double down on our mission to make crypto data accessible. We’ll achieve this by pursuing three major goals:
Educating
Rewarding
Empowering
What does this mean in practice?
Educating
We’re going to train a new generation of analysts and onboard them to crypto. We’ll invest heavily in educational / training resources to help anybody learn on-chain analysis on Dune - regardless of background.
Rewarding
Many already earn money and build successful businesses on top of Dune. We want to foster this as much as possible, and leverage Web3’s toolkit to help make it happen.
Empowering
We’re taking the Dune platform to the Moon, building it into the most powerful and usable data tool in the world.
Soon, a completely new query engine will be live!
It will enable:
Much faster query execution time
Support for all major blockchains
Analysis across multiple chains in one query
Bringing your own data into Dune
We’re also going to ship our #1 most requested feature: The Dune API 🥳🥳🥳
This funding will allow us to build aggressively, whether we’re in a bull or bear market - taking our team, product and community to the next level.
Read more on our blog, and check out this thread:
You can also read about it in The Block, CoinDesk, & Decrypt.
(Btw - to achieve all this we’re also hiring, check out the open roles 👀)
Weekly Wizard #3
In this week’s episode of The Weekly Wizard, 0xBoxer interviewed two special guests - Yulesa & Roberto Talamas from Messari.
It was an interesting & insightful discussion covering a nice mix of DeFi, Dune and data. Check it out:
Now, let’s move on to some of the best dashboards of the past week. We’ve got a Metaverse / NFT heavy edition this time, let’s dive in.
Metaverse LAND: Decentraland vs The Sandbox
This week an interesting dashboard popped up, on an area we haven’t covered much before in Dune Digest - Metaverse real estate.
The Sandbox is an NFT gaming metaverse based on Ethereum. Users can create, sell, use and monetize their own NFTs - and use the native token $SAND to interact with the in-game economy.
Decentraland is another 3D virtual world platform leveraging ERC721 & ERC20 tokens to drive its economy where users can create, buy & sell content and applications.
Let’s compare the two through a dashboard by @mausefalle, and another great one by @metaland.
Firstly, the number of unique owners of The Sandbox LAND has grown nicely since 2020, rising by almost 10x over the past two years:
There are currently 17,706 owners, down from a high of 18,924 one week ago.
There are significantly fewer total owners of Decentraland LAND, but the trend tracks a similar growth trajectory, with a particularly strong performance through Q4 of 2021 to a total of 4,378 holders on Wednesday:
Although Decentraland LAND has fewer total owners, monthly average price has been consistently higher - hitting a peak of $25,483 in September 2020 and fluctuating in a wide range through 2021:
The Sandbox LAND has shown a slightly different trend, holding steady through mid 2021 and hitting a high of $10,821 last month:
Parallel to this we can see that units sold of Decentraland LAND peaked at a massive 36,549 in November 2018 and fluctuated since between lows of around 250 and highs of 3000+.
The Sandbox LAND on the other hand grew steadily in units sold through 2021, hitting a high of 16,511 in November and levelling off in the past two months:
More evidence of The Sandbox catching up can be seen in the floor price, which lagged Decentraland’s through much of 2021 before gaining significant ground in recent months. Both show strong performance:
If you want to dive into this further, this dashboard is a great comparison of the two platforms.

Cool Pets
Everyone into NFTs has heard of Cool Cats, but have you heard about their new offering - Cool Pets?
Pets is a collection of 19,999 NFTs which are procedurally generated based on item interaction, initially starting off as an egg and evolving into their final form through a “gamified experience”.
@BiffBuster put out a nice dashboard on the project earlier this week. Some key stats:
3,286 unique owners
6,227 Pets minted
Average sale price of 2,799 ETH
Floor price 2.05 ETH
Total volume 3,680.94 ETH
Floor price has been sliding somewhat over the past week:
As unique wallets levelled off but continued to grow slightly:

Adam Bomb Squad
Adam Bomb Squad is an NFT project by The Hundreds - a streetwear brand known for their bomb themed designs.
@whaleanalytica built a dashboard earlier this week tracking things.
Daily transactions boomed in late January along with average price which reached a peak of 6.9 ETH on the 25th:
There are currently 8,722 total holders - with less than 10% holding more than 5.
Check out the full dashboard for more holder, wallet, & transaction data.
Ethereum Messages
Did you know that Ethereum is sometimes used as a messaging protocol?
As inefficient as it sounds, users can send transactions to each other with some text in the data payload to communicate a message.
It has been notably used to communicate about hacks - and a dashboard created by @bernat, which finds and decodes the messages, has been trending over the past few days.
Check it out, it’s a pretty interesting and unusual dashboard!
NFT Categories
Our latest guest on The Weekly Wizard, @niftytable, put out an interesting dashboard last week breaking down NFT categories on Ethereum.
PFPs are still king, held by 376,623 Wallets…..
PFP volume for 2021 was an amazing $8.7 Billion, shooting up in August and remaining strong throughout the rest of the year:
To see how they stack up against the two other categories - CC & Visual Art - check out the full dashboard!
More Dashboards
It was hard to choose which dashboards to feature this week because there were so many solid ones. Give these a browse over the weekend:
